Sure!
Besiege’s multiplayer mode is a powerful sandbox platform, which has many tools to create all kinds of game modes, missions and levels! We’ll be making a number of guides to help you get what you want out of the new editor leading up to and after release of the update.
At the moment the player cap is set to 8.
In theory the game could run many more but we haven’t tested this yet and you’d need a very powerful host to deal with all the blocks people’s machines use!
Anyone! Any owner of Besiege can click a couple of buttons and be hosting their own multiplayer game for their friends! We recommend however, that the person with the best computer (Specifically the best processor) be the one that hosts the game.
Without going into too much detail, the performance will be similar to Singleplayer. If the person hosting the game can handle 500 blocks in singleplayer, then the multiplayer game will also handle 500 blocks, total, as well. If they can handle 1000, then the multiplayer game will run 1000, it’s as simple as that! The amount of blocks you are able to support is proportional to how powerful your computer’s processor is.
All processing for the game’s physics is done on the host’s computer, which means everyone else can play the game even if they have a low spec computer!
Yes! You and your friends can edit levels together! Also, using Besiege Multiplayer’s ‘Ghost Mode’ players can simulate the level locally whilst, other players on the server are still making the level!
Yes! Once you’ve finished making your level with the editor, you can save it and even upload it to the Steam workshop or share it with friends!
Nope! If you already own Besiege then you’ll get the Multiverse update for free!
We’ll be publishing a series of Dev Blogs over the coming weeks that will talk in much greater detail about all the new features, how they work and why they work the way they do! Stay tuned to our Steam page, Forum and Twitter for the latest news!
